TURKEY : "A LAND OF NATURAL BEAUTY, SUN, SEA AND CIVILISATION"
Pine forests descending to a ragged coastline indented with many
coves and secluded anchorages, all bathed in brilliant sunshine
and surrounded by water of the most intense blue. Add to this a
gentle warm breeze and friendliest local inhabitants and you have
defined "cruising in Turkey"

Turkey also offers a wide range of coastal towns and harbors, Göcek,
for instance, close to Dalaman airport with its frequent services
to Istanbul, is "Turkey's fledgling St.Tropez", a village
of great charm whose major source of income is yachting. Its sheltered
inlet boasts three superb marinas capable of servicing the largest
yachts, together with a wide, restaurant-fringed promenade.

In contrast, Fethiye is a big and brash tourist centre
with bustling meat, fish and vegetable markets, while Marmaris is
the tourist Mecca where, beneath the walls of the little Ottoman
fortress, one finds a wall of flashing neon and an insistent disco
beat. Bodrum with its magnificent Crusader castle will surely appeal
to any lover of history, who will also be drawn to the ancient ruins
of Ephesus, one of the major cities of the ancient world.

In Dalyan, there are a series of Lycian Rock Tombs standing
majestically in the cliff behind the town, Fethiye. The largest
of these is that of King Amyntas, identified from a 4th century
BC inscription.

This sweet resort town, Marmaris, located on a peninsula where
the Aegean meets the Mediterranean, is surrounded by a pine-wooded
landscape. It has a harbor sheltered with lush foothills and long
sun-drenched beaches surrounding its bay.
Bodrum or ancient Halicarnassus, which is the hometown of Heredotus,
known as the "Father of History", is a typical Aegean
sea-side town with white-washed houses and narrow, winding streets
lined with cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants.

The ancient city Ephesus is close to the major town Izmir and
the holiday resort Kusadasi.
Then there is the shopping, dimly-lit mysterious alleys whose shops
brim with an incredible selection of Turkish arts, crafts and antiques.
A heaven for bargain hunters. If you enjoy life, you will surely
enjoy Turkey.

The inner boundries of Antalya castle is very convenient for
shopping.
