Cruising Highlights Aboard Jasmin
The warm and sunny climate
of the Turkish Mediterranean coast allows superb cruising between
the beginning of April and the end of October. With gentle winds
and midsummer temperatures reaching up to 35oC, the Turkish coastline
has gained an enviable reputation as one of the world's best cruising
grounds. In summer, the prevailing north-westerly wind, known locally
as the Meltemi, increases in strength to give a welcome breeze in
the heat of the day before gradually dying towards sunset to leave
luxuriously warm evenings.

The beautiful beach of Kaputas, in Kas/Antalya
There is a multitude
of beautiful and secluded anchorages to be found in small bays and
coves where one can enjoy a natural, untouched landscape. Alternatively,
one can go ashore in Bodrum - the city that never sleeps - where
a wide selection of restaurants, bars and night clubs cater for
every taste. Those who prefer a more peaceful night out, will delight
in the many traditional Turkish restaurants found in Gocek, just
along the coast.

The underwater tomb in Kekova.
The Köprülü canyon is perfect for rafting fanatics.
Gocek, also offers beautiful
marinas, such as Club Marina ,Scopea and the newly-built Camper
& Nicholson's Port Gocek, set on the edge of pine woods just
30 minutes from Dalaman Airport. New marinas are being developed
continuously in this area, for instance on the nearby Bodrum Peninsula
two further new marinas were opened in the summer of 2003 to join
the existing Bodrum Marina.

You can enjoy the Turkish cuisine in the cute restaurants just
by the sea
Turkey's coastline is
particularly rich in history. If you are attracted by the thought
of exploring the remains of ancient civilizations, your captain
will be happy to organize guided tours for you - a balloon safari
perhaps or flights to other, more distant parts of the country.

The Crusader Castle of Bodrum. The artifacts in the Bodrum Museum
prove to us that this city and its surroundings can boast a civilization
of aprox. 5000 years.
